Tuesday

The MHS boys varsity basketball team was victorious over the Louisa Lions, winning 75-60

Players of the game:

• Ben Ritterband: 25 points, 8/16 shooting

• Este Newell: 16 points, 4/7 3 pt shooting, 4 rebounds, 3 assists

• Ben Giese: 16 points, 7/10 shooting, 3 rebounds, 3 assists

• Thomas White: 3 points, 10 rebounds

• Josh Walker: 7 points

The boys JV team won convincingly against Louisa, 59-24

Wednesday

The indoor track team had their second meet of the season at FUMA

• Bazil Mathes got 1st in the 1600 with a time of 4:23.82, beating the Monticello record

• Daniel Vizcaino and Creighton Doherty placed 4th and 5th (out of 21) in the 1600, each running sub 5:00

• Tristan Walker and Colin Jumper placed 3rd and 4th (out of 22) in the 1000, each running sub 3:00

• Ben Davis (11:20) won the boys 2 mile, Max Scharer (11:24) finished 2nd

• Ryan Davidson won the 1000 (3:12.28), qualifying for states in the 1000

• Davidson also finished 2nd in the girls 2 mile (5:24.24)

• Raelyn Trent finished 4th out of 31 in the girls 300 with a time of (45.79)

• Hope McCullough got 2nd in the 2 mile, breaking 13:00

• Rachel Pickens finished 5th out of 23 in the shot put (25-00)

Friday

The girls varsity basketball team lost a close one to Western Albemarle 44-42 despite a 26 point effort from Dylan Wood.

The girls JV team lost 48-30 to Western.
